Beyond the Call of Duty

The Embrace Care Management Team went way beyond the call of duty to accommodate our family.  I simply do not know what we would have done without them!  They showed professionalism, respect, compassion, care for both my mother & our family.  Because of Embrace Care, we were able to spend more time “enjoying” mother in her final years and less time “worrying”.  Thank you, Embrace Care, for allowing our family the opportunity to spend the last precious bit of time – while mother was still with us – in such a positive way.  One of the best decisions we made regarding our mother’s care – Embrace Care!!!

Mother Wanted to Stay at Home

Following several strokes and falls, my mother expressed the fervent wish to remain in her own home. I lived 3 hours from her home, and Embrace Care made it possible for her to stay there safely with committed care and competent skills. During the two year span that their employed caregivers (MCC’s) cared for her, she became good friends with them. It was clear that these people were chosen by Mary Pitsch and her staff because they brought an extra dimension of compassion that went beyond the duties of a job. During the final months of my mother’s life, we had 24/7 care. This willingness on the part of Embrace Care made it possible for us to fulfill my mother’s wishes to die in her own home. Throughout her care, the staff of Embrace Care was extremely flexible about changing schedules. Mary and others went the second mile in getting her to the doctors and hospital, securing medical equipment, helping with medicines, and ensuring my mother’s safety and well-being. Their nurse made frequent calls and also networked with local hospital visiting nurses and therapists.

Previous to Embrace Care, I had another service, which only took care of house cleaning and minor tasks. My mother’s doctor mentioned Embrace Care, and it was evident from the outset, that they provide a superior service. Mary Pitsch, the Director, is extremely knowledgeable in geriatrics, and she has surrounded herself with a highly skilled and caring staff. I highly recommend Embrace Care to any one who needs quality care in their senior years.

Trusted Friend For Our Mom

With Mary Pitsch and Embrace Care Management, we found someone who could help mom stay independent, be our eyes and ears, make decisions on behalf of the family and be a trusted friend to our mom. The information, advice and suggestions were very valuable.  When I needed a referral for all kinds of services, Mary found them. I remember getting up one winter morning and walking through the fresh snow to the train I take to work. And I remember this wonderful sense of relief when I realized that I did not have to worry about how mom would cope with the snow.

Absolutely Invaluable!

The knowledge about healthcare services, resources, funding, senior housing, nursing homes and hospice care locally is absolutely invaluable for someone who is not in the field or lives out-of-town. The ability to have someone accompany Mom to doctor visits and accurately communicate what had transpired was invaluable to me, being a physician myself.
