Newly Diagnosed

It is not uncommon to experience a roller coaster of emotions after receiving a memory related diagnosis such as Mild Cognitive Impairment or Alzheimer’s disease.  We are here to help by managing your concerns, navigating through difficult emotions, finding ways to share the diagnosis, building a support team, and planning for the future.

Support for Care
Partners & Caregivers

A memory related diagnosis does not only impact the person receiving the diagnosis.   Family members and other support persons often struggle with the new reality as well.  As the disease progresses and your loved one changes,  we offer support in the new and varied responsibilities you may likely be facing.  With our guidance you will have a better understanding of what is to come, be more equipped in setting realistic expectations and planning for your own well-being.

Changes in Relationships

A diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease or related disorders often leads to changes in roles and relationships.   These changes can lead to feelings of disconnectedness and isolation for both the person with the diagnosis and care partners.  The relationships you had are likely changing and many feel sadness, frustration and loss with that realization.  Adult children often find themselves in a role they were not anticipating nor wanted.  Our Dementia Coach will help ease these tensions through honest and open communication.  While the relationships will change, many blessings and positive experiences are yet to be!
